REALA 500D Colour Negative Film
Fuji Reala 500D is the only 500-speed daylight-balanced negative stock available. Its high speed not only allows for shooting in very low-light daylight conditions but also permits shooting at stops that allow a deeper depth of field. Its speed also helps to compensate for the increased stop required when using anamorphic lenses and the effective light loss that occurs when shooting "over-cranking" for slow motion effects.
Also, this is the only stock currently available with Fuji's patented 4th layer technology. This technology was initially designed to help render colours more accurately, but an unexpected and very useful side effect is the 4th layer's ability to remove much of the "green spike" that results when un-corrected fluorescent and sodium lights are mixed with daylight-balanced sources.
- Especially suited for shooting productions that make heavy use of HMI lighting.
- Ideal for filming in mixed-light locations such as hospitals, schools, stations, airports etc.
- Superbly faithful colour reproduction with excellent flesh-tones and neutrals. 'Difficult' colours such as blues, purples and olive-greens reproduce accurately.
- Excellent for low-light circumstances and poor weather conditions. Can be used to shoot from before dawn until after dusk.
- Greater depth-of-field when using long focal length prime and zoom lenses.
- Excellent for under-water and wildlife cinematography.
- No need to gel windows when shooting interiors or use conversion filters when shooting exteriors.
- Excellent for Hi-speed photography and filming TV & PC monitors and displays.
- Clear and natural colour in the viewfinder even in dark outdoor shooting.
"The film stock coped really well with dramatic contrast ratio and there is still plenty of detail to be seen."
